Early Years

Early Years

Our “Early Years foundation Stage” department consists of Kindergarten 1 (KG1) pre-school class and Kindergarten 2 (KG2) reception class.

It incorporates an introduction to learning and development for children who join us after their 3rd birthday

We encourage all parents to complete at least one term in the KG1 pre-school class to prepare them for transition to the KG2 Reception class. This enables the children to bond with their future peers, giving them a head start in their academic lives and introduction to school structure and life.

A bright, sunny and well equipped classroom with a dedicated play area promotes effective learning in all seven areas of the foundation stage curriculum.

A varied activities programme covers all aspects of child development, in a comfortable, caring and happy atmosphere.

EYFS staff possess unique skills and qualifications, specifically for this age group.

Strong emphasis on development, play and exploring the world around us. This helps to build awareness skills and cognitive behaviour.

Maths and Literacy are introduced and adapted for each child, helping to build a familiarity with language, writing and comprehension.

Imaginative play and freedom of expression are encouraged. Various resources are used in this regard including paint, collage, modelling, singing & percussion and group cookery.

Government funded nursery vouchers are accepted.

*Please note, children must be toilet trained before starting with us.*
