Sport is a key part of school life for all students at St Anne’s School. We are dedicated to providing the very best in Physical Education and we recognise that it is an area of physical, mental and social development and we aim to promote good health and fitness in all children. Within curriculum time, the Foundation and Key Stage 1 children are taught introductory activities in areas of gymnastics, athletics and the fundamental skills required in more traditional ‘games’. The progression of knowledge and skills continues into Key Stage 2 lessons, where pupils develop a greater understanding of performance in sporting activities. To complement and extend the curriculum content, we provide all children with the opportunity to take part in our varied extra-curricular program consisting of individual and team activities. Pupils at St Anne’s Preparatory School are able to compete in a number of sporting fixtures and competitions. We have won many awards and trophies for our sporting accomplishments in a range of sporting events.
Congratulations to Hannah Newbrook who has been selected for the England Zone Diving Team. Other than Hannah’s obvious natural talent; she has clearly demonstrated commitment, desire and dedication to reach such an extremely high standard. She has been diving for almost 6 years, firstly with Chelmsford Diving Club then with Havering and more recently for a London club. Being part of the England Zone Diving Team means that training and conditioning has become more intense – five/six times a week training and participating in national dives. Hannah commits to this schedule, attending school and various sporting events all with a smile on her face. We are all immensely proud of Hannah and have enjoyed hearing of her journey so far and of course will continue to support her in the future.
AUTUMN TERM 2017
League Football match at East Hanningfield School 6th October 2017
This was our first league game of the season against East Hanningfield school. We played really well as a team everyone playing together, encouraging each other and showing a great team spirit. We competed all over the park and quickly took command of the game and looked the far more dangerous team. We scored some great goals one an amazing solo goal from Aaron and up the other end some great defending from Henry and Niva kept their chances few and far between. However whenever called upon Amelie didn’t let us down in goal.
